The last producing son of the great Ansata Shah Zaman, Imperial Shahmon is one of the last living representatives of an amazing era in the history of the Egyptian Arabian horse. He represents the fusion of two of the finest breeding programs ever to exist in the Arabian breed, Ansata Arabian Stud and Imperial Egyptian Stud, both of whom have sadly chosen to retire recently after decades of producing champion after champion. Imperial Shahmon's sire, Ansata Shah Zaman was nothing less than legendary. One of the headliners at Ansata during the height of that farm's success, he sired countless champions who, in turn, produced champion offspring of their own. AK Monareena, the dam of Imperial Shahmon, was a mare of legendary beauty. To see her was to fall in love with her. Imperial Shahmon has much the same effect on those lucky enough to spend time around him. He is the perfect gentleman, the kind of stallion one always feels safe and comfortable around. This is without mentioning his beauty, which at age 25 is still very much in evidence. Shamon is every inch the correct Arabian with all of the looks and charisma that entails. He is a horse with superior conformation, from his tiny ears down to his straight legs and large hooves. (Yes, that's right. He has excellent leg conformation, a trait much needed in the show horse of today.)

Imperial Shahmon's offspring always bear the distinct stamp of their sire: robust bodies with lots of substance, dark, soulfull eyes, keen intelligence and amazing athletic ability. These traits appear in his offspring all the way down to the fourth generation! His foals have garnered show ring wins in both halter and performance classes. His babies are also out there jumping, giving riding lessons, and working cattle. Imperial Shahmon hails from a generation when versatility was one of the Arabian horse's star attributes and his get prove that it isn't lost to us yet.

After over two decades of quietly siring amazing foals, it's finally time for the grand old man to take the spotlight, before these amazing old bloodlines are lost to the world forever. Imperial Shahmon is standing at public stud via cooled and frozen semen for the 2009 breeding season. Please contact Privateer Farm to learn how you can breed your own piece of history. We are always happy to work with beginning breeders as well as more seasoned individuals. Please help us preserve Imperial Shahmon's legacy for generations to come!
